In 2017 Benton County formed a committee to explore County initiatives, plans, and activities related to climate action. This work resulted in three climate resolutions committing the County to measure its greenhouse gas emissions, develop a plan to reduce emissions and plan for future climate changes. The Board of Commissioners endorsed the County’s first Climate Action Plan on September 4, 2018, and adopted the latest version on May 17, 2022.
